Krissy Kheen writes candidly, openly and without embarrassment about her psycho-sexual journey from early childhood to mid-life. Krissy is a good writer. She is funny, confronting and honest about her relationships, her thought and feelings and the consequences of her choices. Her book is an encouragement for the reader to be truthful to themselves and others about what they think and feel.Being Australian myself and familiar with both the cities of Sydney and Brisbane, where Krissy's story unfolds, made it even more interesting for me. I could visualise many of the places she talks about. But you don't have to be Australian to enjoy this book. It's not tardy pornography, but it is explicit and erotic on many pages. For me, that makes this book so readable.

I have read this author before and some of her fiction is confronting and strange. This however is a heartfelt book about a person and how she grows up and what makes her 'her' she doesnt hold back with her faults and feelings and some of the 'bad' things she has done in her life. She is a girl growing up in Aust with a very strict homelife who then finds freedom with university in Brisbane and embarks on her personal sexual revolution. She takes you on a very personal journey thorugh her good and bad times. For me it was a story of hope and of acceptance - of self and others - of love and of how other peoples actions and opinions can influence you and your self worth, even if at the time you do not know it. Author is very candid and honest and I liked this book much more than her fiction. Anyone who has ever felt a misfit or questioned themselves will find something here. I really enjoyed this at times sad but ultimately life reaffirming book. This makes it sound like a self help guide which it is definately NOT, it is ballsey and funny and sad and happy.
